Frequently Asked Questions

Q How many children are affected by autism?
A The latest international research suggests that up to 1 in 166 will be affected by one of the disorders associated with autism.  More children are affected by autism than by MS, Down's Syndrome or childhood cancer combined.

Q What does autism do to a child?
A It starts early on, as parents realize that their children aren't developing normal communication and interaction skills.  Communication can become impossible.  Some children with autism injure themselves.  It takes special treatments, and special people, to make the world a brighter place for the children with autism and their families.

Q What impact does autism have on families?
A Autism can be overwhelming for families.  Children with autism need a tremendous amount of care just to handle the basics of life.  Children with autism often need highly structured and repeated training just to master the simplest skills.

Q What kind of support do you have for children with autism and their parents?
A We provide a full range of therapeutic and care giving support for families and children.  We have dedicated staff and treatment workers who administer our programs and services.
